Check out the diagrams (below). When tightening bolts, go in order from 1 up on the diagrams. The valve cover bolts keep the gasket compressed, thus preventing leaks.

I do not really feel like this could be classed as an oem replacement for the original cover since it has serious fitment issues. The ecm receives signals such as crankshaft position, camshaft position, engine speed, and engine coolant temperature. Soundproofing still allows road and especially engine acceleration noise to come through. This mechanism hydraulically controls cam phases continuously with the fixed operating angle of the intake valve.
